Howdy!

I am Pascale and will be living in London for a while. You can read all about my brain-dead tourist situations, embarrassing cultural mistakes and see all the pictures and videos I make. I will also post some proper blogs about the work I do to please my parents and teachers. I'd appreciate it if you left a comment. Use the links underneath the top picture to navigate.

Work, work, work

Thursday 12 May 2011 13:40

Besides talking about how sad it is that next week is my last week in London already, I do actually do some work too.

I am individually doing English grammar with the EAL (English as an Additional Language) children, I am individually reading with some children who need the extra practise, I am doing counting games with some children from reception, I give one-to-one support to one special girl in Year One and I'm in Year Four to help a couple of girls with their classroom work. That all seems quite organised... but it's actually quite hectic because in between these things, I am also photocopying stuff for Helen, making small dictionaries for the EAL children, making work books for children who have trouble writing and generally paper work and filing all Helen's documents. She's told me she's letting me do lots of paperwork so that, once I'm gone, she will actually be able to find things for once.

Then, whenever someone is out ill, I am usually the one taking over their duties such as one-to-one work in the classroom (usually Year One and Reception). This is voluntary; I sign up for it myself, but that doesn't take away that it's lots of work. I think it's become quite normal to have me around because I'm usually the first one people go to when they need an extra hand; I'm here now anyway. Might as well make myself useful, right?

So when the majority of the staff found out that I'm leaving next week, they were quite shocked ("Oh no! What are we gonna do without you?"). I have already asked Helen to write sort of a evaluation slash reflection of my work- hopefully she manages to fit it in with all the paperwork she has to do (half the time she lets me take over all her one-on-one work because she needs to get cracking on her paperwork).

Anyway, my departure is still more than a week away. My weekend will be quite amazing since Eddie, Maddie's fiance, is going to pull some strings and get us on the guestlist of a private club. You know, one of those where lots of celebrities go. Don't be jealous, but if you want to you can leave a message about how much you hate me. See you laterrrrr.
13:40 share!
